Michelle Halkerston Bought The Company She Worked For--Should You?
Two entrepreneurs I’ve interviewed recently became entrepreneurs by buying the companies they worked for. One was Lebanon immigrant A.J. Rassamni, who vowed to one day own the car wash he worked for, and eventually did (along with multiple others). The other is Michelle Halkerston, CEO and owner of Chicago-based shipping and logistics company Hassett Express.
I know Halkerston as a fellow fitness enthusiast. We’re part of a growing league of self-described “Cathletes” who enjoy Cathe Friedrich workouts. We get together 1-2 times a year for Cathe road trips to work out together (and to engage in a fair amount of friendship and tomfoolery fun).
Now I am happy to know Michelle as an entrepreneurial leader as well.
